Under general supervision, the incumbent will support the general Commercial and Agricultural lending functions by performing a variety of administrative and analytical procedures. The incumbent will prepare commercial loan renewals, review financial statements, and provide credit support to Commercial Relationship Officers/Managers. They are accountable for non-relationship credit and risk management functions.

Key Responsibility Areas

Lending Administration Support

  • Prepare administrative support to the Relationship Officers/Managers.
  • Prepare credit investigations, security inspections and searches as required.
  • Work with Business Lending Support to oversee procession of credit progress advances and all other duties their department performs for the BBC.
  • Prepare credit facility letters for review; assist in resolution of outstanding security/account deficiencies.
  • Understand the corporate structure of members (Op-co, Holdco, multiple owners etc.).
  • Understand the basics of financial statements, different types and what each statement means.
  • Complete ratio analysis and understanding of what each ratio means.
  • Knowledge of required security documentation.
  • Research and basic knowledge of Policies for Standard Terms and Conditions of Credit.
  • Initiate Annual Review process.
  • Initiate new and existing credit application for existing members.

Member Support

  • Ensure a high level of member satisfaction by assisting members with loan and deposit inquiries; follow up on requests for information on interest paid, principal totals, loan payouts, posting errors and pertinent details of loan and/or deposit particulars.
  • Understand and use knowledge of member’s financial condition to effectively position the value of products and services.
  • Differentiate between credit union and competitor products and services in terms of member needs.
  • Participate in the development and support achievement of sales targets.

Sales, Marketing and Promotion

  • Support team members as required.
  • Liaison between Business Banking Centre and Business Lending Support functions as required.
  • Backup other roles in the Centre as required.
  • Actively participate in department/work unit and credit union meetings.

This position supports a very active and complex commercial portfolio. Preference will be given to those with a minimum of 3 years business banking credit analytical and administration experience.
