The Branch Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of the branch's operation including attaining sales goals in deposits, loans, memberships, and profitability while also ensuring that our members' financial needs are met.  Through managing, coaching and inspiring staff with your leadership abilities you will also be responsible for taking a role in their professional development.

Principal Duties

  • Managing branch deposits and lending activities within prescribed discretionary limits
  • Developing and maintaining an effective branch sales strategy to maximize branch growth and expansion of the membership base
  • Training, motivating and guiding staff to ensure high quality service is provided to members while presenting them with innovative "win-win" financial solutions 
  • Providing professional, competent and courteous service to members at all times
  • Ensuring compliance with security procedures

Our best candidates are leaders who demonstrate tact, diplomacy and sound judgment. You have exceptional interpersonal, analytical and communication skills and are passionate about the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with members and staff.

Essential knowledge and skills include:

  • Management level experience and a thorough knowledge of retail banking operations 
  • Completion of a business diploma or equivalent program such as Credit Union Institute of Canada (CUIC), or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) 
  • Completion of the IFIC Investment Funds course
  • The ability to develop and enhance a sales culture
  • Demonstrated organizational, marketing and broad management skills
  • The ability to manage and motivate staff and be an effective team player
  • Good organizational, marketing, delegation, and negotiation skills
  • Supervisory experience is essential
  • A commitment to fostering community relations is important for long term success in this position. An understanding of the credit union philosophy is definitely an asset.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in progressively senior lending or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Working knowledge of Credit Union products, policies, procedures, and operations.
  • Mutual Funds license

Education/Training:

  • Defined ability to relocate
  • Two years post-secondary 
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Working knowledge of Credit Union products, policies, procedures, and operations.

Licenses/Certificates:

Preference will be given to those who have their Mutual Fund License or those willing to get their Mutual Funds License.
