(Edmonton, Alberta) – Servus Credit Union has announced the appointment of Ryan Gobolos as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective June 1, 2018. As CFO, Gobolos will oversee the departments of Accounting, Treasury and Financial Performance at the credit union. He will replace Ian Glassford, who earlier announced his retirement, effective at the end of May.

Gobolos has been with Servus since 2005, serving the last three years as Vice President of Treasury. "Ryan demonstrates an intense commitment to our members every day," said Garth Warner, President and Chief Executive Officer of Servus. "We're confident he's the right person for this role, as we continue to focus on growth, innovation and the financial fitness of our members."

"It's an exciting time to be part Servus's Executive Leadership Team," says Gobolos. "We recently expanded into Calgary with two branches, and there's more on the way, and we're focused on creating a financially fit organization that can best support our members."

Gobolos won the National Credit Union Young Leaders Award and Scholarship in 2015 and has been on the National Young Leader Committee since. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) and earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Edinburgh Business School. He completed the Business Leadership Program for Financial Executives at the Rotman School of Management and received the Derivatives Market Specialist designation from the Canadian Securities Institute.

Ian Glassford spent 25 years with the credit union, starting at Capital City Savings in 1993. In 2008 he was became CFO of the newly formed Servus Credit Union. Glassford's contributions to the credit union system include serving on the Board of Directors of Credential Financial and the Board of Directors of Credit Union Central of Alberta. He was on the Financial Management Curriculum Committee of the Credit Union Institute of Canada and "hiked the hill" of Parliament, lobbying on behalf of credit unions, and assisted with the development of policy and positions at many levels.
