Update: March 17, 2020

Since early March, Servus has been actively monitoring and managing impacts of COVID-19 on our members, employees and communities. We’ve been taking this rapidly changing situation extremely seriously all along.

Today I want to personally address the growing concerns about COVID-19 as it relates to our credit union, members and employees.

I’d like to start by noting that our first credit unions were formed by people working together to support their communities and each other through challenging and uncertain times. This strikes me as a time when our founding principles are as important as they were when our credit union was first created.

We provide a critical service for our members and we take this responsibility seriously. We know COVID-19 has had, and will continue to have, a big impact on many members. We have measures to provide assistance to members who are experiencing financial hardship during this tough time. We’ll be communicating details on those plans very soon.

We know you are also looking for financial guidance and services right now. We are doing everything we can to provide support through our branches and our contact centre. Please bear with us as our employees deal with school closures and self-isolation which are affecting our branch operations.

We are working hard to provide options to give you the help and support you need during this time. These include our member contact centre, open 24/7 at 1.877.378.8728, and our online banking services and mobile app.

If you do need to come to a branch, I ask that you take health and hygiene recommendations from Alberta Health Services seriously to protect the health and safety of our members and employees.

As always, you can be confident in the unmatched security of our 100% deposit guarantee, which means both the money you deposit and the interest you earn is safe and secure — up to any dollar amount.

We will continue to keep you informed through servus.ca and our email channels.

Thank you for working together with us through this challenging time.

Garth Warner
President & CEO, Servus Credit Union
